A study visit of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy was conducted from 4th to 8th January across Kumarkom, Kayamkulam, and Kochi.
On 7th January, the Parliamentary Committee visited the Kayamkulam Floating Solar Plant. A detailed discussion was held regarding NTPC’s projects, including the operations and initiatives at NTPC Kayamkulam in the presence of Hon’ble Members of Parliament, officials from the Lok Sabha Secretariat and representatives of the Government of India.
On 8th January, a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee with NTPC and other participating PSUs was held in Kochi which was chaired by Shri Shrirang Appa Barne, MP, Lok Sabha.
Ms Sangeeta Kaushik, Executive Director (Corporate Planning) made a presentation on NTPC’s growth trajectory, energy transition plans and its significant contributions to the country’s energy security.
The event witnessed participation from various PSUs, including Power Grid Corporation of India, Grid India, EESL, BPCL, GAIL (India) Limited, IOCL, NHPC Limited, and SJVN Limited. Senior officials from NTPC including Shri Ajay Dua, RED (SR) were also present.
